“I've had nothing but a positive experience. The medication has worked flawlessly and, in terms of customer service and concern for my needs and well being, Cheyenne is phenomenal. I was not sure when I began and I can honestly say that this has been one of the best surprises in a very long time! Cheyenne is honest, compassionate and communicative. • How is the medication administered?
GLP-1 is a ONCE weekly injection. Please note for anyone who has needle phobia (I DO) this is a VERY SMALL needle that will be injected in your abdomen area. You will be provided detailed instructions on how to injected. The syringe needles are included with your medication.
  • Are there any contraindications with this medication?
Anyone with a personal or family history on medullary thyroid cancer or anyone who has multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2). Patients that have gastroparesis or taking another GLP1 (Ozempic, Trulicity, Mounjaro) for Type 2 diabetes should not take this medication. You will be required to complete a health questioner to ensure no contraindications for your safety.
  • What is GLP-1?
These are both once weekly injections that mimic our natural hunger hormones that are released in our GI tract in response to eating . They both help with weight loss by acting on the brains appetite control centers by reducing hunger and caloric intake. It also slows down the gastric emptying, leading to a longer- lasting feeling of fullness after meals.
  • What is the difference between GLP-1 Option 1 and GLP-1 Option 2?
GLP-1 Option 1 works on 1 hunger hormones (GLP-1) and on average patients are losing 15% of their weight. GLP-1 Option 2 works on 2 hunger hormones (GLP-1 and GIP) and on average studies show a 22-25% weight loss.
  • Who is a candidate for the injections?
We look at each case individually. The standard requirement is a BMI (Body Mass Index) of at least 30 or a BMI of 27 with a comorbidity such as diabetes, hypertension or high cholesterol. However, the BMI does not tell the entire story and does not disqualify you from treatment.
  • How much weight will I lose?
Weight loss varies significantly from person to person and is dependent on multiple factors. Studies suggest combining diet and exercises for best results. On average, GLP-1 Option 1 studies show a 15% weight loss and GLP-1 Option 2 studies average a 22% weight loss. Healthy weight loss if defined as 1-3 lbs/week.
  • Is there anyone who cannot use GLP-1?
The following conditions will make a person ineligible for treatment: - Medullary Thyroid Cancer OR family history - MENS2 (Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndrome Type 2) - Hypersensitivity - Pancreatitis - Gastroparesis - Pregnancy or breastfeeding
